With the new nano-quartz technology in the well-proven exterior paints AmphiSilan and ThermoSan Caparol offers the latest painting technology for unbeatable results: clean for longer periods, maximum weather protection, highly durable, high opacity and uniform appearance. The hard surface gives a substantial reduction in the tendency to soiling, i.e. the adhesion of dirt particles, particulates and spores. At last dirt loses its foothold!
The nano-quartz technology in the Caparol exterior paints AmphiSilan and ThermoSan offers a whole range of definite advantages:
High strength Due to the patented nano-quartz technology the tiny nano-quartz particles are distributed in the exterior paints AmphiSilan and ThermoSan uniformly and during drying they develop a hard three dimensional matrix structure. This continuous quartz-reinforced "matrix" results in a particularly hard surface.
Low tendency to soiling The hard surface does not soften even under intense solar radiation. Furthermore, the reduced swelling with water exposure offers long-lasting protection against dirt. This means that dirt particles, particulates, algae, spores and fungi have significantly fewer areas for attack. In addition, a very thin film of water forms on the surface during rain. This film of water only wets the surface and therefore facilitates thorough cleaning with subsequent fast drying of the facade.
High luminosity particularly with intensive shades The nano-quartz technology stabilises the paint layer. In this way luminous shades, especially with intensive tinting, are possible and all that without forming streaks.
Optimum building physics values Since AmphiSilan and ThermoSan are open to diffusion, water vapour can be easily emitted from inside through the coating (SD values: AmphiSilan 0.05; ThermoSan 0.05). At the same time the moisture-repelling silicone component ensures that water cannot in practice penetrate from outside (W values: AmphiSilan 0.05; ThermoSan 0.09).
Good adhesion on mineral substrates The "matrix" formed by the nano-quartz technology establishes a firm bond to the facade substrate, because the nano-quartz particles hook onto the substrate particularly effectively. This applies especially to mineral substrates.
The nano-quartz technology is the continuation of a success story which, with the consistent implementation of the Caparol Clean Concept in Caparol's research department, has established milestones in the development of advanced facade paints. Special features are, for example, capillary hydrophobic properties and photocatalysis.
The capillary hydrophobic properties enable water vapour to easily escape though the coating. The moisture repelling silicone in the pores and capillaries ensures in turn that moisture is kept away from the masonry, but at the same time also provides a high diffusion capability for air and water vapour, allowing the substrate to "breathe". The result: dry walls with a significantly longer durability, because frost damage is prevented. In addition, dry walls can store the heat better. In the cold season this saves up to five percent of heating costs.
With the photocatalysis the self-cleaning phenomena of titanium dioxide is exploited to further restrict facade contamination. Organic contamination consequently comes under attack on the surface and cannot therefore become established. The result: facades which retain their cleanliness for significantly longer.
The next quantum leap has been achieved with the patented nano-quartz technology, because capillary hydrophobicity and photocatalysis are unequalled in combination with nano-quartz technology.
High performance for facades with our best products! This all adds up for painters, stuccoists and of course for building owners.
Whether for classical residential and commercial properties or for big facades, AmphiSilan and ThermoSan with nano-quartz matrix technology also get top marks for handling and all-purpose use from both painters and builders.
