A stopgap with charm

NURSERY SCHOOL IN SCHILLERSTRASSE, ESCHBORN

| The construction of a new nursery school rendered the use of premises – so far used for a different purpose – necessary on a temporary basis. This was a challenge which placed special requirements on the colour concept. In the centre of the temporary nursery school there is a bistro and space for movement – all surrounded by corridors, adjacent group rooms and other rooms. Due to the light situation the walls inside are given a sunny yellow to simplify orientation for the children. The graphical design with rectangular coloured areas creates connections and groups the rooms; enveloping plinth-type areas are created, which convey protection and security. The implemented colour concept impresses children, parents and carers alike, providing a design for the temporary premises which is also economical in effect and proportion. |
