ENVIRONMENTAL SCHOOL SAVES ENERGY

ALBERTUS-MAGNUS-SCHULE, VIERNHEIM

Over 40 years of school day routine had left their mark on the Albertus-Magnus-Schule in Viernheim which was built in 1965 and major renovation work was urgently needed. Due to the new requirement for all-day schooling, the new construction of a school cafeteria was needed. The Albertus-Magnus-Schule, which has won awards as an environmental school, was renovated with energy-saving measures that were also included in the work. Energy-saving "is very important for our school", said Georg Horn, who was in charge of construction at Albertus Magnus. He expected a "clear reduction of energy costs". The Capatect Dalmatiner insulation boards used with a mineral lightweight render and the ETICS facade coating, ThermoSan, offer the best prerequisites for
this, even down to the detail such as the blinds integrated into the ETICS in the window areas.
