Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek Museum of Art, Copenhagen

Successfully concluded renovation: The Caparol interior paint CapaMaxx proved equal to the high demands on repainting in the Copenhagen Art Museum, Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek. At the reopening of the exhibition halls on the 28th June a multitude of visitors marvelled at the impressively coloured walls in the Museum of Classical Art.

The renovation of the museum lasted three years. Great value was put on the decision regarding the paint and the shades of colour. "At first no interior paint with an extremely matt surface and textile-like character could be found which could be mixed according to the museum's shade requirements," said Espen Keizer Nielsen of the company, Rockidan. At one time consideration was even given to using an exterior paint, but possible effects on the indoor climate counted against it.

The architect, Camilla Schutzmann, was responsible for the overall project. The painting work was carried out by the Copenhagen firm Nielsen & Kromann A/S.
