RESEARCH IN A FIERY RED
CAMPUS RIEDBERG, FRANKFURT AM MAIN
| The new Campus Riedberg is the home of the Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies, a leading research Institute for theoretical sciences. The public/private partnership between the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt and private partners and sponsors chose a striking abode in which glass, brick and plaster/render dominate. The successful interplay of the facade cladding in anthracitecoloured volcanic rock, the fiery red render layer of the thermal insulation composite system and large symmetrical window areas lend clarity and structure to the building. The striking red clay was specially developed and agreed between the architects and the Caparol Nuance Laboratory. |
